Welcome to the about page, I am a freelance artist and illustrator from the UK based in Cornwall, I specialise in creating fantasy art for games publications, children’s books and other mediums that involve storytelling and the imagination.
Who Am I?
After experiencing a childhood filled with fantasy tales, folklore and mythology from the movies I watched and the books I read, I began to think about the importance of storytelling and everything behind the stories. The roots, it's history, the psychology, religious and spiritual connections, and the message stories have the power to convey, is what drives my interest in storytelling as an artform.
Although I take my inspiration from anywhere and everything, past or present, part of my inspiration gathering is rooted in nostalgia and pop culture from the 70’s onwards. Mixing the past, present and future into a workable ball of ideas to create something new, is how I like to work, using story and narrative to drive my designs.
I work predominantly digitally, but with a focus on making it look traditionally painted and more organic. I sometimes do work with traditional materials like graphite, watercolour or acrylics and combine both digital and traditional methods together.
